Christmas is that time of the year everyone always look forward on celebrating. Different cultures and countries have various ways and traditions on how they celebrate this occasion. While some may opt to do it as simple as possible, Filipinos have unique ways that treats Christmas as the star occasion of the year. Giving of aguinaldos!
Aguinaldo is the spanish term for gift. Usually, during Christmas season, Filipinos are very generous of giving out gifts – almost to everybody they know. And gifts usually vary; it can be in kind, it monetary form, or material things like gadgets, gift certificates, toys, etc. This is why Filipinos love this season! They are assured of overflowing gifts!
As a Catholic country, Filipinos have made it a tradition to do SImbang Gabi. It is a series of masses which is believed to grant one’s which if completed. Starting on the eve of the 16th of December up to December 24th, attendees are encourage to wake up early to attend the mass.
