During teenage years, it is common to have acne and pimples. It has been of most disgusting feature of puberty; those reddish with pus stuff in the face is really irritating. But, you must know that acne is not just a result of internal problems, but it also is a result of our external practices such as bad facial hygiene. But before delving more on the causes of acne, let us first define what an acne is to really understand it deeper.
According to a credible health website, an acne is a condition in which blackheads, whiteheads and other lesions break out on the skin that results to that reddish or sometimes pick stuff. Commonly, this grows in the face (cheeks, forehead, sides) or in the most noticeable places of one’s front view. But there are also cases in which acne develops on the neck, at the back and on the chest; but it’s all natural and you have nothing to worry about. So according still to our credible source, there are three main causes for the development of these acnes. The first reason is internal. Too much intake of oily and salty food can cause irregularities in the shedding of skin, making acne more probable. The second reason is about bad hygiene; if one does not wash his or her face regularly, dirt may clog the pores making the germs grow on it, thus the acne. The third one is the combination of both internal and external reason. If there is too much oil, and if you are not clean enough, there is a great probability that acne will grow. But worry no more, because there are easy steps on how to prevent growing and curing acne.
The first one is to avoid eating too much oily and salty food. It is that simple; avoid eating what makes you more vulnerable. You can choose to eat more healthy food without having to suffer from acne. The second one is using natural products like natural fruit extracts to dry and eventually cure the acne. Some dermatologists says that fruits with Vitamin C plus honey works effective as an acne remedy. The third one is about proper hygiene; always wash your face with clean water and dry it with clean towel. Towels really play an important role in the second process. If you are using a dirty towel, washing is nonsense. If you are using a hard and rough towel, avoiding the previously mentioned food is nonsense, because the rough bristles will hurt the skin nonetheless.
Again, do not worry because there are now what they called the “medicated towel”. It is a special type of towel with salicylic acids which can help in remedying your acne. They come in individual sizes, and is very handy. The medication is already pre-measured on the towel and can simply be wiped or patted onto the pimples. These towels are really really helpful and are proven effective. However, you must take note that not all medicated towels are appropriate for acne, and excessive use is too much for the facial skin. The American Academy of Dermatology says severe cases may need medication such as oral antibiotics or isotretinoin, a steroid injection or surgical drainage and excision. Severe acne and cystic pimples can cause permanent scars if they are not treated appropriately. So it would still be better to consult with experts and not rely on popular belief.
