Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan is a Jesuit private university run by the Society of Jesus in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines founded on 7 June 1933 by Fr. James T.G. Hayes. Formerly Ateneo de Cagayan, it was renamed to Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan after receiving its university status in 1958 in honor of St. Francis Xavier.
